Happy Labor Day from the RCLC!
The Republican Committee of Lancaster County would like to thank everyone for their hard work!
Some Brief History…
In 1882, the idea of setting aside a day in honor of labor was presented to the New York Labor Union. In 1884 the first Monday of September was selected as the holiday and deemed as the “workingman’s holiday.” Celebrating the “workingman’s holiday” consisted of parades and speeches that were intended to entertain the workers and their families while also honoring their hard work and devotion.
Labor Day was dedicated to celebrate the hard work and achievement of the working class men and women within the United States. On this day we cherish the individual efforts made by those within our work force both in the past and in the present. Throughout history, the hard working men and women within our nation have led their way into greatness and achieved the unimaginable. We honor the past efforts made by those before us and applaud those who continue in their footsteps.
A Big THANK YOU…
The Republican Committee of Lancaster County would like to take a moment to thank all of our hard working men and women within the work force. It is your ambition, work ethic, and determination that create the backbone of our nation. You strive for greatness on a daily basis and are an inspiration for the younger generation of America. Our society is shaped by not only the efforts of those before you, but the continuous effort you make every day. Once again, thank you to our working men and women and Happy Labor Day!
