GOP RAISES MONEY FOR HURRICANE HARVEY
LANCASTER, PA — We have heard of the devastation and tragedy wrought by Hurricane Harvey on the greater Houston area. Families losing homes, pets, loved ones and businesses. Insurance will not cover all of this loss. Estimates put the need at over $90 billion. But there is a silver lining to these dark clouds. Americans across our land have learned to help one another, physically and financially. They have reached out to help their Texas “neighbors”. As God-fearing Americans, we are called to help one another.
To this end, the Republican Committee of Lancaster County (RCLC) raised funds during their Sheriff Nomination meeting on September 6, 2017 at the Farm & Home Center for the people that were affected from Hurricane Harvey and the devastation it caused.
We are proud to report in one night that we raised $1,000 for Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund through the Greater Houston Community Foundation either through checks or direct online donations from our committee members.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, and County Judge Ed Emmett have established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept tax-deductible flood relief donations for victims affected by the recent floods. To make a donation, please visit their site at https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/ or you can send a check made payable to the Greater Houston Community Foundation and mail to:
