RCLC Chairman Dave Dumeyer made his first visit to the First Latino Thursday on June 4th, and what he heard should be encouraging to Lancaster County Republicans. The topic for the evening was the state of Latino affairs in the nation, the Commonwealth, and Lancaster County. Following a panel discussion, Norman Bristol Colon, leader and organizer of the First Thursday events, stressed the need for Latinos to get involved in all aspects of their community, including politics. “Latinos have a place at every table,” he noted.

The GOP, Dumeyer notes, welcomes Latino involvement. Outreach to the Latino community has been a recent priority for the County and is likely to continue into the future. The Join Us! campaign encourages Latinos to register as Republican voters, where they can have a powerful voice in Lancaster County politics.

Dumeyer stated, “We believe that the values of Latino culture are reflective of the values of our Party. Protection historically for the most vulnerable in our society, including the unborn. A need for all children to have a quality education and the ability of the parents to choose that education. Well-paying jobs that provide workers with economic freedom. A vibrant small business community that stimulates job creation. A greater stake in the community through property ownership. We ask Latinos to learn more about our Party. When they do, they will want to join us.”
